Nissan's Limited 370z 40th Anniversary Edition: Prices Announced

Very soon after releasing MSRPS 2010 Rogue Krom Edition, Nissan puts a price of it next new and special, 370z 40th anniversary edition which will be available in the markets in the next spring 2010. Released to pay homage on the 40th anniversary of Datsun 240z, the 370z is available in a very limited number ( 10,000 units ) with price starting from $39,580.

Imitating the 370z touring model, equipped with sports package and 6-speed manual transmission, the new 40th anniversary, 370z special edition is available in "40 quartz" exterior color, complimented with the red leather interior along with the red stitching on the center stack. It also has some cool accessories embedded like leather steering with red stitching, shift boot, knee pads and many more.

The exterior has been pimped by the smoke finished alloy wheels, visible red brake callipers e.t.c. To make it memorable so that it always reminds of the purpose why it was released, a 40th anniversary badges has been planted on the rear hatch and front shock tower.

However, no amendments has been done to the engine and it has been powered up by the 3.7-liter V6 power generating and boosting engine engine able to produce a power of 332-hp.

New Porsche Panamera PS9 Unveiled At Essen Motor Show

The famous sports car brand, Porsche showed up with its new Panamera PS9 at the Essen Motor Show. The German tuning house releases some of its images of that motor show where the Porsche can be seen embedded with its sports package that bundles aerodynamic add-ons with some performance upgrades and four different power kits for the turbo model.

As usual, the PS9 aerokit includes a front spoiler with an integrated brake cooling system with rigid side skirts, engine hood air vents, air outlets coming through the rear bumper, a fixed rear spoiler and a rear diffuser that houses a twin tail pipes. That's not it. Its a complete package deal. You also get a set of 22 inch alloy wheels along with high performance tires of 265/35 and 305/25 ZR22


Coming to the new Porsche's interior, the steering's covered with leather, pedals of two sizes which are 340 and 365 mm are F1-shift type. You have a choice of selecting the pedals in wood, aluminium or carbon fiber. Door panels and seats are stitched with color threads, exclusive floor mats and carbon fiber decorative trim available in various shades.

The new Porsche Panamera PS9 has an upgraded turbo chargers,sports air filter, sports exhaust system and an effecient ECU. All these upgrades really pimps out the car and results in increased horsepower of 600 to 650 and produces an immense torque of 890 Nm. The new Panamera has an ability of boosting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 305 secs. The manufacturers have not only concentrated on the speed and acceleration. In order to bring a fast moving to a halt, sure require some extra ordinary brakes system. So an upgraded brakes system has been installed with modular 380 mm and 6 piston brake callipers.

Lambroghini Goes Green too - Amazing Diversification.

 Just few years ago motor sports company were reluctant to diversify their hot wheels to a more greener side but now it seems that the majority of them are responding to the call of time. Lambroghini decides to go green as well. Amazing isn't it? It's a very rare but appreciable enough step by a company who has been known for its racing and speeding cars. I hope they have plans to curb the implications as a result of this decision.

Though it's a good initiative but it cannot be regarded as the only sports car company who took this bold step. We've seen Bentley releasing its bio-fuel car and also not to forget, ferrari, which is working hard and utilizing its large portion of research and development expenditure in reducing carbon emmissions. Let's hope lambroghini also performs well in this area.

Analysing the lambroghini's policy, we can see that they have seriously applied some business process re-engineering to some extent regarding the manufacture of their cars. The newly launched Lambroghini LP560-4 is able to emit 18% less CO2 than its prequel, Lambroghini Gallarado.

Lambroghini doesn't consider this enough, as they have committed for even more which means that they plan to reach a target of 35% less emmission by the year 2015. As I said they are applying some business process re-engineering, they are planning to modify a plant by installing a raft of solar technology in the next few years costing about 35 million euros and it will be able to cut the CO2 by 30% while produced during the production. They are not putting a full stop here as Lambroghini is also planning to reduce the weight of their cars, designing more efficint engines which includes introducing hybrid engines as well.

We must hope that this step of lambroghini would create a ground of competetion for other car manufacturers as well and ultimately the world or eco system would be benefited.

How to change a car battery

Car batteries do not last forever, and it is most likely that you will need to replace a battery on a car you own at some time.

Where is my car battery ?

Here is a typical layout, highlighting the car battery and battery clamp along with the red and black battery terminals.

Sometimes the car battery will have a cover over it so you cannot see the red and black terminals.
Most car batteries are clamped securely into place within the engine bay.  These clamps will need to be removed in order the get the battery out.

Here are some examples ;

Bar runs across top of battery, with a nut at each end (probably 10mm).
Removing the bolts will allow the car battery to be lifted out.

All batteries have a lip around the base, the one above has one front and back.
The clamp holds on to this lip and is bolted to the battery tray shown underneath.  Which battery do I need ?
You can walk into most shops and tell them the make, model and year of your car and they will be able to provide you with the correct battery.
You can do the same when you buy online, choose a reputable website and enter your car details and then you should get a price back.
Make sure that the online store is offering a guarantee on the battery.
Most car batteries have stickers on them normally stating the 'Amps'  and
the 'Ampare Hours' ratings.  You can always get this info off your old battery and cross check it against your new purchase.
Also, the 'owners manual' for your car or a Haynis Manuals should tell you what battery you need for your car.

IMPORTANT - never fit a smaller battery than was originally fitted by the manufacturer, it will not last and you will be asking for trouble.
For example, diesel engines normally need more current from the battery to start the engine than petrol engine cars.

 WARNING - BATTERIES ARE HEAVY !!
and you will also be bending over, so if you have back trouble, be more careful and perhaps get someone to help you with the lifting.
 TIPS

• You can use normal vaseline on your battery terminals to prevent corrosion instead of lithium grease. Vaseline works just as well and will keep your terminals dirt and corrosion free meaning better conduction.
  
  
• Always buy your battery from a reputable outlet that offers a guarantee, normally lasting for 1 to 2 years.  This means that if the battery fails within that time, you can it back with your receipt and get a replacement (free).  I strongly recommend a guarantee as I have had a new battery fail on me and took it back to the shop for an exchange.
  

 NOTE
It is always best to get your battery changed if you are in any doubt about how well it is working.  Get it changed before it completely dies and causes you loads of trouble.
Imagine getting stranded somewhere thinking ;
"now I wish I had gotten that battery changed".
As we said, most car batteries cost between £25 and £40, so the cost of one night out could ensure you continue with trouble free motoring.
